Secret Origins: We (Claire Franke and Tim Scherer) came up with the idea for the 8-Bit Bar when we decided St. Louis doesn't need another sports bar. Instead, our dream is creating a social hub that brings people together in an environment that enables them to use their common interests and passions to build relationships with the business, the community and each other.

The Founder (but NOT of The Dominion!)
Tim Scherer currently works at a bartender at the Intenational Tap House in Chestefield Valley. Prior to working at as a bartender, Tim was the PR and Communication Manager of the Unviersity of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Center, in the UK, a Boeing/Rolls-Royce research partnership. Tim has his undergraduate degree in Communication from the University of Missouri Columbia, and will graduate from his MBA progam in March, 2012 with a focus on marketing.
Like many people, Tim has always had a keen interest in video games, science fiction, fantasy, board games, and card games. The first arcade game he ever played was Frogger, in the Chestefield Mall arcade in 1983. Shortly after he received his first Atari 2600, and spent many years in therapy trying to recover from playing E.T. the video game.
